Rochelle L. Brown is a lifelong resident of South Bend and graduate of Clay High School. During her years of service, she became a Certified Probation Officer, Court Substance Abuse Management Specialist, Executive Director and Correctional Officer in various locations. Rochelle had a number of obstacles that she needed to overcome but she was determined to further her education. She obtained her Associate of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Ivy Tech State College and also holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Trine University. She also holds a Master’s degree in Administration of Justice and Security from University of Phoenix.
With all the adversities set before her she wanted a better life. Through hard work, making good decisions, and creating a supportive circle around herself she has been able to reach her goals. She is a true success story and an example to countless young people and women that they can achieve any goal they set before themselves.
Rochelle continues to contribute to her community beyond her public service roles. She volunteers as a Big Sister with the Big Brother Big Sisters of America program. She is also a proud member of Zeta Phi Beta sorority and Charter Member of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, South Bend Chapter, which offers programs and service to local communities and charities, funds scholarships, and promotes
legislation for social and civil change. Rochelle is a graduate of the Leadership South Bend/Mishawaka Class of 43 and a recipient of the Michiana Forty under 40 from South Bend Regional Chamber. She is also a business owner of Laconic Blu, LLC where she sells unisex fedoras and other items. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, spending time with Godchildren, reading, and she will try most things at least once.
