Kristen Schunk Moreland is currently the Vice President of Change Management & Strategic Initiatives at Ivy Tech Community College, where she has been employed for the past seven years. She has 18 years of experience working in the public sector, as well as many years in the private arena. Her experience includes leadership and team development, strategic planning, policy development and analysis, grant development and administration, project and contract management, and fiscal, legislative and business process improvement.
Prior to her current role, Kristen was a manager in the Public Sector Advisory Services division of KPMG. She was also the Indiana Dept. of Education’s Assistant Director for the Division of Exceptional Learners and the Interim Director for the Indiana Division of Disability, Aging and Rehabilitative Services, FSSA, where she coordinated the activities of program areas to serve individuals with disabilities statewide.
Kristen earned her Bachelor’s degree in Public Affairs from Indiana University – Bloomington in 1996. She then graduated from the IU School of Public and Environmental Affairs with a Masters of Public Affairs in 1999. Since then, she has volunteered for many Central Indiana organizations. Most notably, she co-founded Project Home Indy, a residential facility for pregnant and parenting teenage girls.
Kristen currently resides in Indianapolis with her husband Doran Moreland and their two girls Sloane and Quinn.
