With many years of experience in the healthcare field and as a servant leader, Donielle Martin, has worked with organizations to provide value added solutions for Physicians and Patients. Donielle, being in healthcare has been able to influence change with providers in how to manage patient care through clinical documentation as a healthcare consultant with OptumInsight. Donielle has also served and still serves on several non-for-profit organizations in various roles. Donielle is a servant leader, she has been able to advocate, be a trailblazer, creating initiatives that have brought awareness, have impacted the community and workforce. Donielle Martin holds her Master’s degree in Business Administration with a specialization in healthcare from Indiana Wesleyan University, a Bachelor’s degree in management and human services from Indiana Wesleyan University. She also, holds two certifications: Certified Professional Coder and a Certified Risk adjustment Coder through The American Academy of Professional Coders.
Donielle is passionate to serve all walks of life.
She is the volunteer lead over the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion with her current employer OptumInsight. Donielle leads her DEI volunteer subcommittee team with passion. Donielle developed a DEI six-month series: “Better UP, DEI starts with the US.”
Additionally, she has served on the United Negro College Fund Central Indiana planning committee for the masked ball gala for seven years, as the chair of volunteers. She and the volunteer team have made an impact on the community to help fundraise to assist students who need financial assistance going to and through college.
As a breast health advocate with the foundation Pink 4Ever, Inc., where she is influential with women who have or had breast cancer. Donielle is trained to meet the breast health needs of patients, caregivers, survivors, and thrivers. Through her advocacy, she has been instrumental in helping to impact the community to try and end breast cancer disparities. During her time serving as a leadership council board member with The American Cancer Society: Making Strides against breast cancer – Indianapolis, Donielle was instrumental in helping to impact the community in effort to end breast cancer disparities, through advocacy and fundraising.
Donielle served as the first African American President- Elect, in 2015- 2016 for the American Academy of Professional Coders, Central, IN in its 34 years of being founded. She served in an essential role as the president to influence change, in various areas, such as creating employment opportunities and developing mentor/mentee programs.
As the the Marketing Chair of The United Way of Central Indiana from 2012- 2013, Donielle influenced change to help increase sales for events. The proceeds from the sales assisted those in the community with disparities in various areas, such as sustaining progress for early childhood education, mental health, and affordable housing.
In her free time, Donielle enjoys traveling, roller skating, a healthy lifestyle, and she is a Colts die-hard fan! Donielle absolutely adores her family and close friends.
