A graduate of the IU-Bloomington School of Journalism, Tina Noel’s long career as a communications professional began as an assignment editor and news producer for WSBT-TV in South Bend. While exploring a move to a larger television market, she was offered the life-changing opportunity to relocate to Indianapolis and become press secretary for Indiana Lt. Gov. Joe Kernan. Tina served in that role for more than six years, and when Joe became governor, she moved into the press secretary and communications director role there.
Tina later transitioned to lead the communications team for the Kernan-Davis gubernatorial campaign. Soon after the 2004 governor’s race, she had her first child, which set her on the path to independent consulting. She worked on her own for 19 years, juggling various communications projects for nonprofit and private clients, ranging from Fortune 500 companies to government affairs firms and local elected officials. As a consultant, she led the public affairs initiatives for AT&T in Indiana for 10 years, with a splash of AT&T Illinois and Ohio work thrown in for good measure. Today, she is the senior communications manager for Duke Energy-Indiana.
Tina is proud to not only have executed paid work for progressive organizations and candidates, she has also volunteered for Planned Parenthood and served on the Hoosier Women Forward Communications Committee for six years. As a member of that HWF committee, she helped launch the organization with its kickoff media event at the Indiana Statehouse in 2018.
Tina is married to John, a software engineer. They live in Indianapolis with their two fantastic teenagers, and their precious pups, Phoebe and Spock.
