Sonia Santana is a lifelong advocate and social change agent. She is currently the Senior Director of Campaign Strategy for Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) and the Action Fund. In this role, she manages the Regional Campaigns Team and aligns on campaign strategy interdepartmentally and cross divisionally as it pertains to affiliate facing campaigns to protect and expand access to sexual reproductive health care and rights. Sonia has been in the Planned Parenthood family since 2008. She first began her career in Indiana as the Statewide Organizer and shortly thereafter as Director of Advocacy for Planned Parenthood of Indiana. She soon joined the Campaigns Team as a Regional Campaigns Director with PPFA/Action Fund in 2011 where she worked closely with state staff on key electoral and legislative campaigns across the country.
She is also the founder of CenteringME, a coaching practice with a focus on working with purpose-driven progressives who are ready to center themselves in order to live full, meaningful lives. Sonia supports professionals in transitioning careers and provides executive coaching to support their success once in their new role.
Sonia has a 20 year background of working to advance racial equity, multicultural restorative justice, and social justice issues through the cultivation of community leadership. She also attends Life Journey Church and volunteers regularly in service to those who are experiencing food or housing insecurity. Sonia received her degree in Public Policy from Indiana University and resides in Indianapolis, IN. She is a Puerto Rican mother of one son, Adonis and wife of her loving husband, Troy. Sonia is a foodie and in her spare time she enjoys painting, traveling and visiting art galleries.
