Samantha Lozano is a self-driven Latina who has a passion for public service. A proud Hoosier, she was born and raised in East Chicago, Indiana and takes great pride in her immigrant roots from Guanajuato, Mexico. A pioneer in her family, she became a first-generation college graduate and is a testament to how education can change lives. In her career, she has managed political campaigns, worked at the Indiana House of Representatives, and today is expanding her knowledge of the utility sector and regulatory environment at Indiana American Water. The northwest Indiana native is committed to making a positive impact and amplifying underrepresented voices in her community by dedicating herself to civic engagement, empowering young Latinos through mentorship and educational programs such as Latino Fellows Day. Outside of work, you can find her exploring new bike trails or enjoying an espresso at locally owned coffee shops around Indy. Samantha seeks to pursue the qualities of servant leadership by exemplifying her favorite life-affirming quote from Maya Angelou, “My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor and some style.”
