Sally Dixon

As a Registered Nurse, Sally Dixon has spent her career caring and advocating for women and infants. In her current role as the Fetal Infant Mortality Review (FIMR) Coordinator at the St. Joseph County Department of Health, Sally facilitates community action to address system, clinical, and policy factors that contribute to infant and maternal mortality, pregnancy loss, and racial and socioeconomic disparities in birth outcomes. Prior to her position in public health, Sally worked in labor and delivery, postpartum, newborn nursery, as grant writer, and as a stay-at-home mom. Sally serves on the Indiana State Department of Health Maternal Mortality Review Committee, the Nurse Family Partnership Community Advisory Board, and the Family and Children Center’s Advisory Committee in St. Joseph County. While born and raised in northeastern Pennsylvania, Sally has lived most of her adult life in the Midwest. In 2005, Sally moved from Columbus, Ohio to Granger, Indiana with her husband, Dan, and their two children, Sam and Audrey. Sally is a graduate of the Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing in Philadelphia and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies and Healthcare Psychology from Graceland University.
