Leigh Riley Evans is a community development executive who has served the Mid North area since December 2011. In her role, Leigh is responsible for the overall direction and management of the Mapleton Fall Creek Development Corporation’s operation, including administration, program development, financial and personnel management, marketing and community relations.
Leigh, and those who know her well, consider her a change agent; one who has never forgotten what is really important. She enjoys fostering collaboration that enriches the community and lives of others through the combined gifts and talents of people and organizations she meets and works with in her life.
In Leigh you have a strong believer of asset-based community development and in creating sustainable communities.
She has been recognized by CHEP with the trailblazer award for her work helping to improve health through a community-university partnership. She currently serves as a Commissioner for the Indiana State Fairgrounds and on the Board of Directors for several community-based organizations, such as the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (USC) – a national organization with local priorities committed to helping neighbors build communities – Prosperity Indiana, Keep Indianapolis Beautiful and The Indianapolis Children’s Museum.
Her career and educational highlights include earning a BS in Psychology from Purdue University and her MBA from the University of Phoenix.
Leigh is a longtime Indianapolis resident, who moved to the Mapleton Fall Creek Area with her parents and brother when she was only seven years old. She and her family still reside in the area, as do her parents and several other family members. Leigh has been married to Scott for 24 years and is the mother of three sons. In her spare time, she likes to travel with her family to sporting events and amusement parks.
