Kelly is a committed public servant who has spent her career working for the citizens of Indianapolis. An attorney by trade, she worked as a Public Defender for seven years, advocating for indigent clients. She now works for the City of Indianapolis as the Real Estate Administrator in the Office of Finance and Management, managing the properties that the City invests in for government use, and determining where the City should acquire property in the future.
Kelly was born in Indianapolis and graduated from Pike High School; however, she brings big-city perspectives to her positions here in Indy, after attending Xavier University in Cincinnati, Brooklyn Law School in New York City, and living in Chicago and Washington, DC.
Since returning to Indianapolis, Kelly has involved herself in community organizations including Reach for Youth, Craine House, and the Indianapolis Bar Association. Within the Bar Association, she is currently an executive member of the Real Estate and Land Use Section as well as a member and former Chair of the Public Outreach Committee. She graduated from the organization’s Bar Leader Series in 2022.
Kelly’s career and life experiences have shown her how important social justice and equity are to create a thriving community, and she works toward that goal every day. She has always loved Indianapolis, and loves seeing the way it’s grown to become a more progressive and modern city. She currently lives in Fountain Square with her two dogs, and spends her time off visiting new restaurants, and searching for local art.
