Catherine Torzewski is a lifelong Hoosier who was raised on the East side of Indianapolis. Her mother was a librarian, and her father was a union labor sheet metal worker. Catherine is a graduate of Scecina Memorial High School. Community was at the center of her upbringing, and she was taught to serve that community starting at an early age.
Catherine left home to earn a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Indianapolis. That achievement set her up for success. She now possesses extensive experience in business management, having managed a law firm for several years as well as leading her own investment property business, both in her hometown of Indianapolis. In 2014, she became a licensed Realtor and is one of the most successful Realtors within her brokerage. She prides herself on her selfless service to her clients and her extensive knowledge of real estate in central Indiana. Empowered with the real estate proficiency gained in these positions of leadership, Catherine earned a seat on the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee for the Metropolitan Indiana Board of Realtors (MIBOR).
Because of her commitment to serve her community, Catherine, a fierce advocate for gun sense laws, joined Moms Demand Action as a volunteer in 2022. Through her volunteerism, Catherine learned that you have to be at the table to effect change. With that goal in mind, she was accepted into and completed the Demand A Seat Program hosted by Everytown in 2023. She won her own first election in 2023 becoming a Marion County Precinct Committeeperson and has taken the lead on several other campaigns, currently serving as campaign manager for Representative Victoria Garcia Wilburn’s reelection campaign.
When she’s not serving her clients, fighting for change or running a campaign, Catherine spends time with her family that she adores – her husband and two young sons. Keeping true to her community commitment, she also has an amazing village of close friends and family always by her side.
