Brienne serves as the Director of Elections for the Marion County Election Board, where she works tirelessly to ensure our elections are free, fair, accurate, and accessible in Indiana’s largest city. In 2018, she was named the State of Indiana’s Election Administrator of the Year.
Prior to her appointment as Director of Elections, Brienne served as a Deputy Prosecutor in Marion County. In the courtroom, she fought every day to bring justice and peace to the streets of Indianapolis. A dedicated public servant, Brienne currently volunteers as an advocate on the Citizens Energy Stakeholder Alliance – ensuring that the City’s utilities are equitable and accessible for every Indianapolis resident.
Brienne’s love of elections started early, and her commitment to helping Indiana Democrats up and down the ballot remains. In college, she volunteered on her first campaign with State Representative Peggy Welch (D – Bloomington). Since then, she has proudly knocked on doors, made thousands of phone calls, stuffed more envelopes than she can count, and sweat through plenty of July 4th parades for Congressman Andre Carson, Mayor Joe Hogsett, former Senator Evan Bayh, and many others. She’s been on the winning side of some and on the losing side of some. But either way, she’s proud of every candidate she’s ever supported. Currently, Brienne also serves as the Parliamentarian of the Indiana Democratic Party.
In her free time, Brienne can usually be found doing anything outside like jogging and hiking, hanging out with her family, or going on road trips (that must involve gas station coffee and good music).
Brienne was born and raised in Carmel, Indiana and currently resides in Indianapolis. She attended Indiana University, Bloomington earning a degree in economics and business. She earned her law degree from the Indiana University McKinney School of Law in Indianapolis and is admitted to practice in the State of Indiana.
