Anne-Therese “AT” Ryan

Anne-Therese “AT” Ryan is a Terre Haute native committed to building a stronger, more equitable Indiana through public service and community leadership. She currently serves as Executive Director of the City of Terre Haute’s Human Relations Commission, where she leads efforts to eliminate systemic barriers and foster a stronger sense of belonging for all residents. AT also works as Special Projects Coordinator for Mayor Brandon Sakbun, helping shape initiatives in accessibility, transit, housing, and civic engagement.

AT began her career as a middle school math teacher through Teach For America in Tulsa, Oklahoma, a formative experience that sparked her passion for building inclusive systems and advancing equity for those facing systemic barriers. She went on to serve as Outreach and Education Manager for the Indiana Civil Rights Commission, expanding rights education and community partnerships across the state.

AT holds dual bachelor’s degrees from Indiana University and is currently pursuing her MPA at the O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs. She is passionate about the environment and enjoys volunteering with TREES Inc., a nonprofit working to expand Terre Haute’s tree canopy. She’s also a devoted sports fan, pop culture enthusiast, avid reader and audiobook listener, and frequent traveler who finds joy in discovering new places with her family.
