Allyson Shelby is an attorney with Berry Global, Inc., a Fortune 500 company headquartered in Evansville, Indiana. At Berry, Allyson manages litigation and regulatory issues and is a founding committee member of the Women’s Employee Resource Group. She currently sits on the Newburgh Town Council.
Prior to joining Berry, she practiced at Jackson Kelly PLLC and served as a law clerk for Judge Richard Young of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana.
Whether she is educating youth in civics, supporting the arts, or participating in local government, Allyson is passionate about volunteering her time and services to the community. She is a former board member and mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters, former president and board member of the Evansville Civic Theatre, and an active member of the University of Evansville Theatre Society.
Within the legal profession, Allyson has held numerous leadership and volunteer positions with the Indiana State Bar Association and the Evansville Bar Association. She continually seeks new ways to serve her community, help the underprivileged, and improve the region’s quality of life. Allyson graduated from Vanderbilt University Law School where she received Dean’s List honors and was named the Women’s Leadership Scholar. During her time as president of the Women Law Students Association, the organization received the school’s Overall Excellence Award, the highest honor for a student organization. She also spent a semester at the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslovia where she served on the legal defense team for Croatian General Ante Gotovina.
Prior to attending law school, Allyson graduated from Indiana University with a degree in biology and minors in chemistry and music history where she was a member of the Honors College and went on to manage medical device sales for Bloomington-based Cook Medical. Allyson currently resides in her hometown of Newburgh with her two children.
