Natalie Clayton is a co-founder and broker/Realtor of Maywright Property Co., a fully women-owned real estate brokerage serving clients and neighborhoods in central Indiana. The name Maywright honors May Wright Sewall, a Hoosier known for her work as a suffragist and advocating for women’s rights and education. As one of the top-ranked real estate agents in Indianapolis, Natalie brings to her work expertise, compassion and a commitment to empowering her clients. Since launching her real estate career, Natalie has been recognized as Rookie of the Year, an alumna of MIBOR’s Real Estate Academy of Leadership, and a Bud Tucker Scholarship recipient, a scholarship aimed at those who show exemplary service to their community.
Natalie is an Indianapolis native and graduate of Indiana University, Indianapolis, where she studied public affairs and civic engagement as well as participated as a Sam H. Jones Community Service Scholar for four years. She has dedicated her career to knowing and serving Indianapolis and its people. Prior to entering real estate in 2017, Natalie spent a decade working in government and nonprofits, including serving as deputy director of the Greater Indianapolis Progress Committee under the Mayor’s office where she worked on projects like the development of Eskenazi Hospital and Bank on Indy, a program that championed second chance bank accounts to reduce reliance on predatory check cashing entities and more. She has also held fundraising roles at National Future Farmers of America and the Indiana State Museum.
With more than 1,500 hours of service and volunteering, Natalie has spent time with organizations including the Athenaeum Foundation, where she currently serves at vice chair of the board of directors, with numerous neighborhood groups including the Fletcher Place Neighborhood Association, and other important nonprofits including Impact 100, Second Helpings, accessABILITY, Keep Indianapolis Beautiful, Indiana Landmarks, Habitat for Humanity and more. In 2016, Natalie and her husband also launched a $5,000/year scholarship program for students who have shown a commitment to community and public service. To date, more than $50,000 has been awarded to deserving students advancing their education.
Natalie is excited to participate in Hoosier Women Forward’s 2025 – 2026 class. As someone who has advocated for Democratic candidates, given testimony aimed at protecting women’s rights at the Statehouse, and openly opposes the policies impacting those who need a fair and just government the most, she is excited to learn and strategize with her fellow, impassioned women.
On a personal note, Natalie, her husband Blake, their two sons (Len and Lou), and their two dogs (Jack and Roe), proudly reside in downtown Indianapolis. Spending time with her family and friends is what she most enjoys.
