A “Boomerang Hoosier,” Rebecca is extremely enthusiastic to have returned to her home state after a decade away. In her time outside Indiana, she studied Political Science, International Studies, and Global Affairs and worked on an array of social sector projects stateside and abroad. She received a B.A. from Northwestern University and an M.A. from Yale University.

Her career to date has been dedicated to social impact—she has had varied experiences in direct service provision and research in many sectors, including public health and workforce development. She is an incredibly proud Returned Peace Corps Volunteer, having served in the Maternal and Child Health project in Guatemala.

If you live downtown Indy, she probably asked you to canvass during the 2018 Coordinated Campaign. She remains actively involved as a volunteer for the Indiana Democratic Party, canvassing and phone banking for several municipal candidates and attending as many party-sponsored events as possible. She currently works on the research team at the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy at IUPUI, where she also teaches a course on the intersection of civic engagement and philanthropy.
