Pam Dechert is a businesswoman, nonprofit fundraiser, community leader, and candidate for Indiana House of Representatives, District 88. She is a lifelong Hoosier who grew up in Northwest Indiana as the oldest of five children – her parents are both retired public school educators. She’s lived in Indianapolis since college and is raising her 12 year old son with her husband Derek in Northeast Indianapolis. Pam has been a professional and volunteer fundraiser at nonprofits of all sizes throughout Indianapolis, but she’s spent the majority of her career at Blackbaud, the leading cloud software company powering social good. As a member of the Professional Services leadership team, she manages services for a $30 million dollar product line, working directly with nonprofits to effectively use data and technology. She is well respected in her industry as a subject matter expert in areas of major gift and online fundraising.
A lifelong and deeply committed community leader; her current volunteer work focuses on education, schools and serving our community through the Benjamin Harrison YMCA. In 2019, she served as the co-chair of the Yes4LawrenceSchools PAC, leading the effort to successfully pass a $191 million capital referendum ensuring that Lawrence Township schools had the necessary upgrades and improvements needed. She is the current chair of the Benjamin Harrison YMCA Advisory Board, chair of the Major Gifts Committee and longtime board member. She also serves on the Greater Indianapolis YMCA Financial Development Committee as well as the Diversity, Inclusion and Global Initiatives Committee.
