Melissa Rinehart is a Fort Wayne native and honors what fellow cultural anthropologist, Margaret Mead once said, “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed, citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.” Melissa believes Hoosiers have a moral obligation to serve their communities and she does this through volunteering, community advocacy, and non-profit leadership. She currently serves as Executive Director for Wellspring Interfaith Social Services. Prior to that, Melissa was a University Professor, Educator, Researcher, Author, Program Developer and Public Speaker at several colleges throughout the country. Melissa has also volunteered for several political campaigns and recently ran for Perry Township Trustee in Allen County. It won’t be her last run for office. Melissa has a PhD in Cultural Anthropology from Michigan State University.
