Kimberly Townsend is an Anderson, IN native and has served in various capacities in her community for over 30 years. Kim began her career at the City of Anderson Community Development Department and after 20 years, was appointed executive director for the Anderson Housing Authority in January 2018. Kim serves on numerous boards including; Trustee for Ivy Tech, JDAI Steering Committee, VP of Professional Development for Indiana NAHRO, National Committee for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion for PHADA and Crimestoppers of Anderson and Madison County. Kim graduated from the Executive Management Training program at Rutgers University in 2020 and received the Rotary Club’s Robert Shoemaker Image award and the Athena Shining Star Award in 2019. Kim has also worked on various political campaigns and endeavors including Tim Lanane for State Senator and Indiana Young Democrats.
Kim is the mother of 2 sons, Brandon and Jalen Townsend and grandmother to Ava, Jalen and Cashis Townsend.
