Kaisa Goodman is currently the Executive Director for the Monroe County Democratic Party (MCDP) and the Campaign Manager for Bloomington Mayor John Hamilton. Prior to that, Kaisa served as Treasurer for MCDP. A nontraditional student, she is completing her Bachelor’s degree at Indiana University in Environmental & Sustainability Studies and Political & Civic Engagement; she expects to graduate in May of 2020.

Kaisa’s political career is rooted in organized labor, even as a child, she attended the annual Eugene V. Debs dinner in Terre Haute, and she has served on the Debs Foundation board since 2014. While an employee at Bloomingfoods Market & Deli, she was a leader in the employees’ successful efforts to unionize. Kaisa helped negotiate their initial contract using Interest Based Bargaining, a collaborative and issue-focused approach to negotiations, after becoming certified by the FMCS in Interest Based Problem Solving. She later served as a union steward with UFCW Local 700.

In 2015, Kaisa managed Bloomington City Councilmember Dave Rollo’s successful re-election campaign. From 2015-17, she was a board member for Democracy for Monroe County (Secretary 2015-16, Vice Chair 2016-17). Kaisa is a graduate of the Emerging Leaders Project, class of 2016-17.

A native of Indiana, Kaisa resides in Bloomington with her fiance, Nico; stepson, Oliver; and cat, Rogue.
